Since I was just craving something, I tried my hand at a Spinach and Fruit Smoothie and it was surprisingly tasty.
Here's what I did:
To the blender add about 1 cup of frozen raspberries, about 3/4 cup of frozen blueberries and some water. I started with about 1/2 cup but needed to add more to blend it all up. It was about 1 1/2 cups in the end, I guess. I also added a little bit of maple syrup to sweeten it to my taste.
Then after it was all blended, I added a good handful of Baby Spinach Leaves and kept blending til combined.
easy peasy and so good for you. Tomorrow I will try some of the peaches I picked up at our farmers market in the fall and I bet that will be great, too. Don't know, how the color will turn out, but todays looks like this:

I added just a little dollop of yogurt to the top for the hell of it. I might try to add some to the smoothie next time, also.

and you TRULY cannot taste the spinach?
i love spinach but cannot imagine it in a drink.
but i'd give it a whirl.
i like yoghurt/cinnamon/ginger in my smoothies.....along with fruit/water/sweetener of choice...usually honey.
No, you really can't taste it, Patti. At least I can't. And I'm a wuss about stuff like that in my drinks. ha!
BTW, I did a peach and spinach smoothie and that was fantastic, too. Some Ginger and Cinnamon would have been excellent for that! Have to think about that next time. yum. My Peaches were defrosted when I added them, so I put a few ice cubes into the blender just to thicken it up a bit. It was bright green once the spinach went in, but again, I couldn't taste any of that.
this sounds delicious. I have to try it!
I'm going to give this a try. If it's good maybe I can trick my son into getting more veggies. Have a great day.
